About Us

What We Do

In this increasingly complex world, education is one of the most important investments in life. The mission for The Lord’s Hands is awarding laptops to promote human potential to BYU-Pathway Worldwide students in Africa.

Although we are not affiliated with BYU-Pathway Worldwide, we value its low-cost, flexible, online approach to higher education in over 150 countries.

Income inequality prevents many African BYU-Pathway students from owning a laptop, which is necessary to complete university-level courses and obtain their online degree. The Lord’s Hands addresses this problem by awarding laptops to exceptional BYU-Pathway students through a competitive process.

We are not experts, nor rich or famous, but we have a reverence for life and a desire to be ‘the Lord’s Hands’ in helping the poor and the needy. Please add greater meaning to your life today and join us in creating a better tomorrow!

Our Story

November 2020
The Lord’s Hands was officially organized in the Democratic Republic of Congo
January 2021
We commenced our Winter  “Laptops for Students”  campaign and donated 25 laptops to our first group of BYU-Pathway Worldwide students from the DR Congo, Congo-Brazzaville, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Kenya.
April 2021
We started our Spring “Laptops for Students” campaign, and were delighted to donate 63 Laptops to the second group of BYU-Pathway Worldwide students from the following countries: Malawi, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Liberia, Uganda, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Ghana, Congo-Brazzaville, Togo, Burundi, and Ivory Coast.
August 2021
We successfully awarded 103 laptops to students in the following  countries in Africa: Cameroon, DR Congo, Congo-Brazzaville,  Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Sough Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
Currently
Since its inception, 1332 African students in 28 countries have earned a laptop from The Lord’s Hands due to their academic success in BYU-Pathway. The news of The Lord’s Hands has traveled throughout Africa and hope now exists. In our website, you will see heartwarming examples where lives have been changed for the better because of a single laptop. Our biggest risk is extinguishing that hope in the lives of students who “…with surety hope for a better world…” Please help us keep hope alive by donating today!

Making An Impact

“Too often we notice the needs around us, hoping that someone from far away will magically appear to meet those needs. Perhaps we wait for experts with specialized knowledge to solve specific problems. When we do this, we deprive our neighbor of the service we could render, and we deprive ourselves of the opportunity to serve. While there is nothing wrong with experts, let us face it: there will never be enough of them to solve all the problems.”
